Hellcats star Aly Michalka has been cast in Fox’s single-camera comedy pilot Rebounding. The 20th TV project, written by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman and directed by Jason Winer, is an uplifting comedy about Danny, a man recovering from the death of his fiancé with the help of the idiots on his pickup basketball team. Michalka, repped by CAA and Prospect Park, will play the girlfriend of one of Danny’s friends.

A new 78violet song has digitally released. It is called “Grace“, a unmixed electronic dubstep song with the length of 1:16.  The song is produced by JetZRecordZ. The credits show that the label is Half Hearts Music (familiar from the Into the Rush era).

Right now the song cannot be heard in full (only a 30-second snippet).

The song will be released on November 25, 2011 (tomorrow) on Amazon.com (no sign yet of iTunes)!

Here’s the description: She’s a rocker who “explodes onto the stage of New York’s hottest underground clubs.” (Yep, Michalka sings!) Her character is questioned by the CSI team when the guy she’s been dating is found murdered.

AJ Michalka: “Very fun. It was so cool. You naturally get so into it once the costuming comes together and the hair and make-up, and you start listening to music that’s from that era. I’m a huge fan of ’70s rock.”

Are you really?

AJ Michalka: “Yeah. So for me it was so fun to get into. I loved it. She was just fascinating as a young girl and I was able to talk to the real Kate about what she was like. She’s so fun, so exuberant, full of life, and a free spirit, and that’s what I’m all about so I was able to relate to the character on a lot of different levels.” Read More…
