Aly & AJ Michalka, collectively known as 78violet, have signed with Jonathan Shank and Bruce Flohr at Red Light Management. The duo have been working on their first record in 6 years with producer David Kahne. We’re thrilled to introduce 78violet (formerly know as “Aly & AJ”) under Redlight Management. We’re honored to be represented by such a successful and forward thinking firm aimed towards artistry and longevity,” the duo said. They have also produced a video for their forthcoming single “Hothouse’ to be released later this summer under their production company “Violet House”.

Both girls have recently been featured in high profile film & tv projects with Aly starring in Bandslam, Easy A, and the hit CW show Hellcats, as well as costarring in the feature The Roommate.  AJ has also been busy and co-starred in The Lovely Bones, Secretariat and Super 8. In 2013, AJ stars in the Lionsgate feature Grace Unplugged as well as the indie film Jesus In Cowboy Boots. This year Aly will star in the indie films Sequoia and Killing Winston Jones. She also makes a cameo appearance in Grown Ups 2.

Their last release, “Insomniatic,” sold over 2 million copies worldwide and spawned their platinum single, “Potential Breakup Song,” which to date has garnered over 45 million views on Youtube. Since becoming 78violet, they’ve managed to accumulate a significant social media footprint. This will be their first record released under the 78violet moniker. Aly & AJ continue to be represented by CAA and Principato-Young Entertainment. They currently reside in Los Angeles where they were born and raised.

So it’s official! You might remember a while ago the girls attended a Red Light Management event so some of us fans already had a feeling they might have gone with them. Below is the video they uploaded to youtube talking about signing with management. Also incase you may have missed it the girls are now on Keek so expect more videos from them via that platform. They already have a couple up so go check them out!

I was going to try and add all the instagram pictures from their accounts as well as everything else but that is a task all on its own and I feel like I’ve left it far too late to try and catch up on them. Haven’t updated properly for a while but a few people may have noticed that I still update the gallery every now and again. So I thought I would post some of the more recent Hothouse pics on here for those who may not have seen them already. The girls look absolutely stunning in the pictures and word on the street is that the music video has been edited and the girls are now in the stages of getting the right music management i.e. meeting up with potential management. Chances are we won’t be hearing the music anytime soon so we will just need to sit tight for now. Until the Hothouse day finally comes enjoy the pictures.

AJ Michalka is all smiles on the red carpet for the premiere of The Host held at ArcLight Cinemas Cinerama Dome in Hollywood on Tuesday night (March 19). The 21-year-old actress was joined by Christian Serratos, 22, and Melissa & Joey’s Taylor Spreitler, 19.

“Off to the premiere of @thehostfilm So happy to support kind and talented friends! #thehost Xo” AJ tweeted ahead of the event.

Alyson and Amanda attended the debut of Cee Lo Greens new show in Las Vegas yesterday! They both looked absolutely stunning. I added almost 40 HQ pics to the gallery.

Aly Michalka keeps cool and casual in a tank top and yoga pants while walking with a guy pal on Saturday morning (February 16) in Calabasas, Calif. The 23-year-old actress carried a copy of “Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch” by Henry Miller while on her way to a workout with her friend.

AJ Michalka waves as she runs a few errands on Tuesday (January 29) in Calabasas, Calif. The 21-year-old actress sported a white hoodie and some workout gear.

I told myself when I began my break from updating the site at the end of last year that I would only update if it was about something that genuinely excited me. So I’m not a hundred percent sure but I think Aly & AJ may be shooting a music video. Maybe even for their song Hothouse which we have yet to hear. So here is the information I have. Amy Strozzi, friend of Aly & AJ and make-up artist, posted this picture on Instagram with two hashtags – #musicvideo #78violet.

Also their friend Anna Rose who is doing the hair on the shoot has tweeted a couple of times about the early shoot in Santa Barbara along with the girls tweeting a hint.

I will add the pics later into the gallery from the “shoot” later but what do you guys think? I might just be going crazy since we haven’t had 78violet yet but I think this could be the start of them coming back!! Let me know what you think in the comments.
