AJ Michalka: “Very fun. It was so cool. You naturally get so into it once the costuming comes together and the hair and make-up, and you start listening to music that’s from that era. I’m a huge fan of ’70s rock.”

Are you really?

AJ Michalka: “Yeah. So for me it was so fun to get into. I loved it. She was just fascinating as a young girl and I was able to talk to the real Kate about what she was like. She’s so fun, so exuberant, full of life, and a free spirit, and that’s what I’m all about so I was able to relate to the character on a lot of different levels.” Read more… »

Looks insane!! Can’t wait! AJ isn’t featured in the trailer, but trailer #2 is gonna be attached to Battle: Los Angeles, Red Riding Hood and Sucker Punch in theaters! Hopefully she’ll be in that one! Can’t wait!

I just got word that a new trailer for AJ’s highly anticipated movie, ‘Super 8′ will air during this years Super Bowl (February 6th) during the commercials! Check your local listings! Hopefully it’ll feature AJ! Who’s excited!?

A release date has finally been set for the Steven Spielberg produced, J.J. Abrams directed and AJ Michalka featuring mystery sci-fi thriller, Super 8! A teaser trailer was released for the film back in May 2010, screening in front of Iron Man 2 at the cinema, it cause widespread euphoria among fans, particularly as until that point the film was completely unheard of. This is not the first time J.J. Abrams has pulled this stunt of course, having given similar treatment to 2008′s Cloverfield.

Despite the impressive, albeit sinister looking trailer (which can be seen below) the film did not actually commence shooting until September of this year. Based on script written by Abrams, the story is still largely unknown. What we do know is that it features a group of kids shooting on an old super 8 mm camera and when watching their film back, they spot an alien in the frame. Now finally we have the release date too – June 10, 2011.

AJ just announced on Twitter she will be featured in the new movie, by Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams, Super 8.

Reportly the movie is about “a bunch of kids who are shooting a movie with a Super 8 camera in the ’70s or ’80s. When they develop the film, they notice that there’s an alien creature in the frame.” Some say that it may be linked with Cloverfield possibly as a sequel. Aj joins the cast that includes Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills and Gabriel Basso.

The thriller is now shooting for a Summer 2011 release.
