A new 78violet song has digitally released. It is called “Grace“, a unmixed electronic dubstep song with the length of 1:16.  The song is produced by JetZRecordZ. The credits show that the label is Half Hearts Music (familiar from the Into the Rush era).

Right now the song cannot be heard in full (only a 30-second snippet).

The song will be released on November 25, 2011 (tomorrow) on Amazon.com (no sign yet of iTunes)!

This song is a fake! It is a amateur remix of “Amazing Grace”, when they sang it at the burial of their squirrel Little Jack (2009).

Celebuzz was in attendance and took in the holiday festivities — chatting with celebs and enjoying the fake snow (we don’t get that here in LA!) The event was filled with yummy holiday snacks, sleds and a snuggle shack where the stars gathered together to celebrate the Fall/Winter 2011 campaign.

When we got a chance to talk with Aly about the brand and what’s next for her, the lovely Hellcats star said:

“I’ve gotten to represent the brand for the past year and I think it’s a huge honor. The brand is really cool and really fresh. This is a perfect event! I wish it would snow in LA! This is awesome.

As for her career, she told us:

“Basically, I’ve been working on music right now. In March we’re going to be doing the album and recording that in New York, so I’m going to be kind of busy for a couple months just doing music. Right now, I’m just in LA finishing up the writing, anything that’s just loose ends on the album. And next year I’m going to be in a movie that’s coming out called The Light of Mine.”

Aly- what’s your favorite Hellcats moment?
My favorite Aly moment on Hellcats was when I fell asleep during a set up. Ashley and I were both on set and had been working an 18 hour day. I was all cozy on my dorm bed and literally fell asleep while the crew started to set up for our last shot of the night. The director started to call action and suddenly I hear Ashley go “um guys, I think Aly’s asleep”. It was a classic moment on the Hellcats set.

What’s your favorite song?
Our personal favorite 78violet song from our previous records would have to be “Closure” and “Flattery”. Those two songs meant so much to us at the time we wrote them, and they still carry the same weight emotionally. Right now we’re really loving a song we just wrote called 8 Hours.

Which song have you gals recorded that you relate to the most?
The song we most relate to right now is from our unreleased record. It’s a song called “Freak”. I think we can all feel different and forgotten in this world, but its important to know that we all have these feelings as humans….and we can get past those moments with good friends.

Who would you like to collaborate with musically?
I think the band we would most love to collaborate with would be U2. AJ and I would be so honored if we ever had the chance to work with them. They are true artists who have continued to inspire people with their music and philanthropy.

Sorry it’s been so long since we’ve blogged. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about you!! As you may already know, Hellcats has been cancelled, but we truly appreciate the support you gave us. We are very proud of the first season and it was an incredible experience! We have made lifelong friends, which is always a good thing! J We are fully focused on the next album. You all have been so patient and understanding. J We know alot of you have been with us from the beginning and it seems like just yesterday when we released Into The Rush. The music we have been making lately is such a progression from what we have done in the past, but without leaving behind who we are.

The weather has been beautiful here in California and we’ve been seeing so many dear friends lately. AJ is headed to London in June and will also be traveling through St. Tropez and Cannes. She can’t wait to meet our French fans. Of course, I’m a lil jealous since I won’t be joining her, but she is taking a special trip with a friend.

Also don’t forget to mark your calendars for Super 8 coming to theaters June 10th!!! We just got the new Ipad 2 and have been playing with the cool Super 8 app. We are so hooked Anyway, we will try and be more consistent with writing you! It’s quite sad to see AJ talking about Hellcats and being excited to be part of the cast. At least we still know a record is on its way!

New song titles have been added to the BMI database.

• Cold Hearted Girl - Written by Aly Michalka, AJ Michalka, Alex Pettyfer and Anthony Goldman.
• Magellan – Written by Aly Michalka, AJ Michalka and Carrie Michalka.
• Now What - Written by Aly Michalka, AJ Michalka, Nancy Wilson and Mary Lou Miglino.
• Walk Alone Tonight – Written by Aly Michalka, AJ Michalka and Matt Squire.

I have no idea whether these were written for the old album or the upcoming one but I’m loving the titles. There was also a title called Hellcats - BG Cues and it was written by the girls and Bradley Glenn Walker. Maybe it was another possiblity for the theme of Hellcats (who knows).

Can you hear more of Suspended in the background? Sounds pretty awesome!

Finally the second video project made by fans is finished. This time the video is split into two due to there being so much to fit into the video. The first part is fans talking about there excitement for upcoming projects and the second part is more fans speaking and then the singing! Big thanks to Peppe and Albert for making this all happen.

Aly Michalka has never had a roommate in her 21 years, and after being a part of the new thriller The Roommate (in theaters today), she’s not in a hurry to find one. She stars as Tracy, the hard-partying friend of fellow coed Sara (Minka Kelly) who becomes one of the people targeted by Sara’s psychotically clingy roommate Rebecca (Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl). “This movie definitely inspired me not to want to room with anyone who’s slightly crazy,” says Michalka, the Hellcats star who also is in the band 78violet with her sister AJ. “The only person I would want to room with would be my sister, and I know she’s not psycho.” I caught up with Michalka yesterday when she was on break from the set of Hellcats, on which she plays law student/cheeleader Marti Perkins, and the one-time Disney Channel regular talked about the new movie (beware a few spoilers ahead), what’s coming up on her freshman CW show and what important piece of jewelry she added after filming The Roommate two years ago.

This was a more intense project than your fans normally see you in.
It was. The energy was definitely different than any other shoot that I had done before because it had that suspenseful vibe on set. But it was a really different experience and we all had fun as girls hanging out.

So how did you go from girls hanging out to girls (maybe) trying to kill each other?
We never really were scared on set. We all laughed about it. We would see the process right there in front of our eyes, see what they were doing and how they were making certain things look scary. So it was a fun experience more than it was actually being physically, mentally scared. Read more… »
