| Over the past months, a lot of news has come out about the new album. This is a summary of the most up-to-date info about their upcoming record. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Info on the album | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Name: 78violet Release: 2010 Background info: The album’s first release was set for April 2009, coinciding with the (then) Bandslam release (which was pushed back too). Later, it was pushed back for the summer of ’09, then for a fall ’09 release. Currently, the album is slated for a 2010 release. Along the way, there were a lot of rumors (based on pretty much nothing official) like the album being called Pieces, Changes or Places. All untrue! 1st Single: unknown title Release: 2010 Background info: Same story goes for the single. Tommy2 informed us about a single coming in June, however, this was based on Carrie Michalka’s comment. Record-wise, the labels were not in the process of picking a single yet. Discussion all around, but the first single choice hasn’t been made yet. What else do we know about the new album:* It’s gonna be way more rock, and guitar-influenced than we’re used to, but it’s still their recognizable sound. * They are working with producers Chris Lord-Alge (My Chemical Romance, Green Day) and Rob Cavallo (Avril Lavigne, Paramore). * In early May, they vBlogged about the album being finished, and only thing needed is the mixing and picking first single. * It’s going by the name of 78violet to avoid confusion (the numbers are their favorites and violet is their alter-ego on stage). * On August 16, 2009, they leaked the first song from the album (“The Next Worst Thing”) on KROQ radio. |
