According to both TV Guide and Michael Ausiello, we might find out more about Marti‘s dad this season… but not until the finale. In even more exciting news, Hellcats appears to be sitting pretty for a second season — yay! The article contains some spoilers. If you want to read them, click read more. Regarding a sophomore installment, TV Guide reported, “We think the show’s outlook is pretty good, and apparently, so do the show’s producers. We’ll meet Marti’s absentee dad, Rex, in the Season 1 finale, and the plan is for him to recur in Season 2. But this daddy-daughter reunion won’t be a happy one. Rex is an alcoholic and drug addict for whom recovery has never been a long-term option.” Meanwhile, Ausiello dished some slightly contradicting scoop on his new site, TV Line: “Marti sets out to find her long-lost dad, only to discover that he’s Lauren Graham’s ex on Parenthood! At least he sounds like John Corbett’s deadbeat dad character. Rex Perkins is described as an aging rocker with a long history of alcohol and drug abuse. MIA for Marti’s entire life, the now-clean-and-sober ex-con reconnects with his daughter in Hellcats‘ season finale.” So, is Papa Perkins sober or not? Guess we’ll have to wait until May 17, 2011 to find out for sure. In the meantime, we’ll be celebrating more Hellcats come Fall 2011… hopefully!
